Marcus, my pet dead moth who lives on my desk at work, doesn’t get out much. So I decided to go in to the office on the weekend and take him for a bit of an excursion.

Over the past month or so, Marcus the dead moth and I have become great friends. Marcus hangs out with me at work every day and we have a grand ol’ time. He doesn’t talk much, but he’s a good guy to have around.

As you can see, Marcus lives beside my laptop, in front of my phone. When we aren’t chilling together, he plays with the penny I found for him. The penny is like a security blanket for him; he never goes anywhere without it. (In fact, he never really goes anywhere, ever.)

At night, I put Marcus to bed underneath his spoon. He likes his spoon; it’s cozy underneath it, and it’s also dark, which is important because half of the lights in the office stay on all night. Without the spoon, it would be kind of hard to get to sleep.

I wish everyone could have a friend as good as Marcus. We really are BFFs.

At work today, I opened up a cupboard above my desk and a new friend came tumbling out of it!

Say hello to Marcus the Dead Moth, my bestest new insect friend:

He lives in a little box on my desk, with a spoon, a penny, and a pretty red ribbon.

Marcus is apparently a bit camera shy, so his face came out blurry. (Actually, it’s just that my work camera apparently hates that whole “Working Properly” thing I’m always going on about.)

I know Marcus and I are going to have a great time together in the coming weeks at work. We can frolic, and dance, and sing! (Well, I guess dead moths can’t sing, but we can still frolic and dance.)

I’m going to get him to help me write reports, too. He can take care of the tilde key. (This is a tilde: ~  The more you know!)

(I never use the tilde key. Don’t tell Marcus, or he’ll think I don’t appreciate him.)
