This morning we Twitter-folks had some fun and engaged in an epic battle for the hearts and souls of all Tweet-kind. The protagonists of the battle were my Semi-Colon Commandos: ;;;;;. They began the day by going on a rampage of mischief and subterfuge, but they quickly made a lot of enemies, who banded together into an Evil Army intent on deleting them from existence.

The shenanigans lasted about 90 minutes, I think, with several different people getting in on the fun and throwing around new and different forms of punctuation to be employed as soldiers and tools. It made for some enjoyable silliness, and who knows, maybe the SCCs will be back again someday.

  • So @Jillers thinks my semi-colons look desperate. Does ;;;;; look desperate to you?! To me, they look like tiny elite commandos.

  • The SCCs are after @_commanderkeen. ;;;;; There they go! They’re kicking down the door, stealing his yellow helmet, and giving him a wedgie!

  • ;;;;; What are the SCCs going to do to @tamaness? They’re hijacking his spaceship and launching it to Venus! It’s gone for good, now.
  • Seems like @MunkyJunky wants in on the action… He doesn’t realize the SCCs are climbing up his leg and readying the explosives! ;;;;;
  • Now @tamaness is firing missiles at the SCCs: >> >> ;;;;; >> Looks like their elite commando dodging skills are coming in handy!
  • How can @TheWonko dare to suggest that the SCCs aren’t as good as his colon army? ;;;;; Looks like they’re mad, now…
  • The SCCs are readying for battle against @TheWonko’s colon menace. ;;;;; ___ ::::: The colons have great firepower, but the SCCs are mobile.
  • Oh no! Both @TheWonko and @MunkyJunky have called in the aid of the ampersands! &&&& Those guys are pure, straight-up, EVIL.
  • Surveying the battlefield: ;;;;; ____ ::::: &&&& It’s a stand-off. The SCCs are suggesting a one-on-one duel of champions from each side.
  • In response, the Evil Army has recruited some of @Jillers’s mercenaries: … ??? !!! The Semi-Colon Commandos are in trouble. ;;;;;
  • Drat! @1889ca’s @ agents have cracked the SCCs’ secure communications, and @tamaness has sent his bombers to drop # bombs on us!
  • The current battlefield: @@ ___ ..;. ::::; ;??? !!;! #;## Hold on, where have the SCCs gone? Weren’t they to the *West* of No Man’s Land?
  • Wow! It looks like the SCCs somehow slipped behind enemy lines! They’re disarming # bombs and slaughtering the colons and question marks!
  • But @vihockey has joined the fray, barricading the roads: ++++ ;; … !!! ;;; ++++
  • It appears that @MunkyJunky is abandoning the battle! Oh no! He’s trapping both the SCCs *and* the Evil Army with his Doom Brackets!
  • Doesn’t @MunkyJunky value his own soldiers’ lives? Everyone’s going to die in the Doom Brackets! { ++ ;; .. !! &&& ;;; ++ } Is this the end?
  • The Doom Brackets are closing with a crushing inevitability: {+..!!&&+} But where have the SCCs gone?
  • {+.!&+} {!&} {||} The Doom Brackets have sealed shut. Did the SCCs escape, or were they crushed under a wall or corpses? We may never know.
  • Meanwhile, at @2stepz’s hidden jungle bunker… //;;;;;//
