I can’t stand the Rolling Stones. Show me some songs with a melody!
I love the Fray, though, and you should definitely take a listen to their new album.

oneHead over to http://fiftywordstories.com, where I’ll be writing and posting an original fifty-word story every day for a year, starting February 22, 2009.
noneI’ve got a couple of things to share.
First, I uploaded a video to YouTube this morning. I’ll be posting it here later today, but for now you can see it on YouTube. This video is exciting for two reasons. First, it’s in HD! I bought a new version of my editing software because it supports the HD files my video camera shoots in, and with YouTube’s recently added support for 1280×720 HD video, that means I can offer high-def content for you to view for videos that I make from now on.
The second reason this video is exciting is because in it I announce my newest project, which you can find at www.fiftywordstories.com (or www.fiftywordsaday.com). I’m going to be posting a new, original fifty-word story to this site every day for the next year, starting February 22, 2009.
Check the site out and follow along as the stories start flowing.
noneMike Keenan, the coach of the Calgary Flames, suggested during an interview that the Vancouver Canucks’ Willie Mitchell was using a stick that was longer than the maximum allowable length.
During the pregame skate of this evening’s Canucks vs. Flames game, Mitchell came out onto the ice holding onto this:

7:30 AM
The sun is oppressively hot this morning, a marked change from the heavy clouds of the past week. Perhaps our luck has turned.
7:54 AM
Well this is a poor start to the day. Some of our spelunking equipment was stolen overnight. Only three of us will be able to go in now.
8:21 AM
Kevin and I are going in, with Jose providing support. It’s hard to dust off artifacts he you have to carry your own tools and lights!
8:44 AM
Nothing seems to have been disturbed in the dig so far. Hopefully the equipment thieves didn’t come down here at all.
9:11 AM
I get enough reception in these caves for texting, but not enough to make an actual call. I feel kind of cut off from the world.
9:15 AM
We’re almost at the final chamber. I get no reception at all in there. No further signs of theft or vandalism yet, though.
10:27 AM
This is a catastrophe! A dangerous artifact has been pilfered from our dig by one of the other archaeologists! Look for a man with a mullet. Read the rest of this entry…
